Is there a reason Stafford has only 4:00 min of ice time? |

I'm simply flabbergasted over the Sabres inability to produce any offense... it kills me during the intermissions while Brian Duff goes through the out of town scoreboard and nearly every game by 2nd intermission has 2-3 goals scored per team in each matchup around the league. The Sabres should be utterly embarrassed of their lack of goals... how many posts and shots that go wide have to happen before someone within this organization realizes they either need to teach these guys how to shoot the darn puck or overpay to get someone who actually knows how to hit the net 5+ times per game. It's simply incredible to see how poor these guys are in the offensive zone. Even during odd-man rushes they find a way to put the puck behind the net or into a corner and not get a shot on goal... it's truly an amazingly horrible thing to watch. It's atrocious hockey! Yes, Nolan has brought out better effort... but to think about the folks who defend giving Moulson or some of these other guys 5-year contracts at $5-6 million per season instead of trying to acquire actual young offensive talent to build this team, simply blows my mind at times. They need Hodgson back, that's for darn sure! I also hope they claim Zenon Konopka off waivers from the Wild... guy has a 60% faceoff win percentage (since 2009-10) and is tough as nails! Not an amazing talent (he's on waiver afterall), but if they're going to play on hustle and effort alone then bring this guy back close to home. |

If Buffalo plans on using the the amnesty buyout on Leino then I suggest LaFontaine shut him down with 10 games left on the schedule as to avoid what happened last year as he was on IR and Buffalo couldn't use the amnesty buyout because you can't use it on a player on LTIR. If they can't find a taker for Stafford then use the second buyout on him. |

If briere is trader here, he automatically becomes our best player.
Let that sink in for a while.
Maybe he hated Darcy as much as the rest of us and knew that this team was garbage, so I won't blame him for signing with the habs, but how is it six years after d-day we still don't have top flight first line talent???
Ad Drury and briere were never really top flight anyway!!
Sign zenon! Better than half the plugs on this roster. |

Sabres may as well take a flyer on Briere. not like they can't afford the cap hit and i'm sure Montreal would be willing to unload him for a 6th or 7th at this point. and as we've seen in Edmonton, you can't just rebuild with high draft picks and not surround them with any stable veteran leadership. is Briere a useful player still? probably. just not in Montreal. there are just too many small forwards in Montreal. Briere on a third line with a couple of big bodies could be effective. |

Buffalo doesn't have many of those up front either. |

If Briere wanted the Sabres he wouldn't have signed with the Habs, he's not coming to Buffalo and it doesn't matter if he did this team still stinks. |

well in the summer, it's not a surprise he would have chosen Montreal over Buffalo. he's never won a Cup and while Montreal sure doesn't seem to be a contender, they're more competitive for the immediate future than Buffalo. however things have changed and he's likely in a position where he'll do anything to get out of Montreal.
like i said, i don't think Briere makes Buffalo necessarily more competitive, but that veteran presence could have a really positive impact on the team. |

I just don't see it happening, to many contending teams could use a guy like him. |

Aside from all of Garth's spelling mistakes I actually agree with him. Picking up knoupka would be a good move for the Sabres. He would add some grit and would venture to say he is a Nolan type of guy, along the same lines as a Barnaby. We will see what happens. |

Vogl tweeted ZK is the newest Sabre
He is a good face off guy so probably see him on PK and important defensive zone face offs |

Still trying to figure out why they signed him to play the wing in the first place. He needs to play center and needs to play on the pp. if he will do those two things in Buff than he's worth it. If not then stay away. Also, Briere was most dominant with the Flyers centering Leino and Hartnell. Putting Leino back on his wing with a big winger who crashes the net would be his best chance at success. Sure that Briere line could not play defense in Phila, but it did not matter. They controlled the puck most shifts. Especially in the playoffs |
